High-voltage motors and low-voltage motors have their own advantages and disadvantages. What are their respective advantages and disadvantages?

Compared with low-voltage motors, high-voltage motors have the following advantages:

1, the motor power can be enlarged, the maximum can reach several thousand, even tens of thousands of kilowatts. This is because, when the same power is output, the current of the high-voltage motor can be much smaller than that of the low-voltage motor. For example: 500KW,4-level three-phase AC motor in the rated voltage of 380V when the rated current is about 900A, and the rated voltage of 10KV when only about 30A. Therefore, Takano motor windings can be used with smaller wire diameters. As a result, the stator copper loss of the high-voltage motor will also be smaller than the low-voltage click. For larger power motors, when using low-voltage power, a larger area of stator slots is required due to the need for thicker wires, so that the diameter of the stator core is made large, and the volume of the entire motor will become very large;

2. For larger capacity motors, the power supply and power distribution equipment used by high-voltage motors are less than the overall investment of low-voltage motors, and the line loss is small, which can save a certain amount of power consumption. In particular, 10KV high-voltage motors can directly use the grid power supply. In this way, the investment in power supply equipment will become less, the use will become easier, and the failure rate will become smaller.

Compared with low-voltage motors, high-voltage motors have the following disadvantages:

1. The cost of windings is relatively high, and the cost of related insulation materials will also become higher;

The requirements for the use of the environment are far higher than the requirements for the environment of the low-voltage motor;

3, insulation treatment process is more difficult, more labor costs, motor manufacturing cycle is longer.
